Day 1

| Shillong

Welcome on arrival in Guwahati Airport/Station and drive to Shillong. En route witness the Umiam Lake or Barapani - is the biggest artificial lake in Meghalaya in midst of sylvan hills adorned by Khasi pines & peerless beauty.
If time permits visit Cathedral of Marry and Ward’s Lake. Evening free at leisure to explore the region on own. You may take a walk to the famous Police Bazaar for shopping. Overnight in Shillong.

Day 2

| Shillong

After breakfast, drive towards Mawlynnong Village. Mawlynnong Village, located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred to as ‘God’s garden’, has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village, known for its cleanliness, is located around 90 km from Shillong and is a community-based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made a collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the living Root bridge at a neighboring village, Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. Later on short trek to the Living Root Bridge (30 minutes) and explore the village. Also visit Dawki (Indo-Bangladesh border), where one can enjoy a boat ride in the crystal clear water of the Umngot River (boat ride on direct payment). Evening drive back to Shillong & overnight stay.

Note: It is advisable to carry a packed lunch to Mwallynong. 

Day 3

| Shillong

Morning after breakfast, proceed to Cherrapunjee en route to visit Elephant Falls. Later on arrival, visit Seven Sisters Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Garden of Caves & Eco Park. Overnight in Shillong.
Note: Most of the waterfalls are dry during the winter season.

 

Day 4

| Guwahati

After breakfast, drive from Shillong to Guwahati.
Afternoon visit to Kamakhya Temple - The temple is dedicated to goddess Kamakhya an incarnation of Sati. It is on Nilachal hill, says the Shiva Purana, that the yoni or creative organ of Sati fell when Vishnu, in a bid to save the world from the Shiva’s tandavanrittya or dance of destruction, cut her dead body into 51 pieces with his Suddarshan chakra. Overnight at hotel. 

 

Day 5

| Guwahati

After Breakfast, drive to Guwahati Airport /Station.
