Day 1

| Kohima

Arrive at Dimapur by air. On your arrival, you will be greeted by your tour guide. After settling into your vehicle, we will drive to take a short walk in the market of Dimapur. There is nothing quite like the sensory experience of a trip to a market. The sights, sounds, and smells assault the senses in a way that visitors are most likely to get a glimpse into how the locals live and interact in everyday life. There are several local markets in Dimapur where you can find great local produce, authentic food, and enjoy soaking up the atmosphere of laid-back Naga life. 

Your lunch will be organized at a local restaurant in Dimapur.
Later we shall proceed towards Kohima – which is the land of the Angami Naga tribe, located at an average elevation of 1261 meters. The name, Kohima, was officially given by the British as they could not pronounce the Angami name Kewhima or Kewhira (Tenyidie for "the land where the flower Kewhi grows"). It is called after the wild flowering plant Kewhia, found in the mountains. 

On arrival, check into your rooms and retire for the day. Overnight stay.

Day 2

| Kohima

We visit and photograph one of the most fascinating festivals of Nagaland – the Hornbill festival, where the various tribes of Nagaland get together to showcase their customs and traditions. Spend the entire day at Kisama village – the location of Hornbill Festival (program as per festival schedule), witnessing cultural dances, songs of the local tribe. 
 
Evening, we visit the Hornbill Night carnival (timing 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM). Colorful stalls adorned with sparkling lights; each one has something unique to offer. 
Return to the hotel.

 

Day 3

| Kohima

Morning, we shall visit the Hornbill festival ground. Explore the festival, the Naga Morung. If interested, you can try the local food ( on your own). 

Later, take an excursion to Khonoma – the green village. Khonoma is an Angami-tribe warrior village that is known for its battles with the English and its leading role in the Naga freedom struggle. In recent years, Khonoma has become famous for its community-based conservation projects and eco-friendly tourism initiatives. 
 
Later, visit the World War Cemetery – constructed in memory of the officers and men who made supreme sacrifices during World War II. On each grave, there are beautiful epitaphs engraved in bronze. The famous inscription written on the War Memorial stone reads "WHEN YOU GO HOME TELL THEM OF US AND SAY, FOR YOUR TOMORROW WE GAVE OUR TODAY".

Day 4

| Kaziranga

Drive towards Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its population of the endangered one-horned rhinoceros. The drive offers picturesque views of Assam’s countryside, dotted with tea gardens and traditional Assamese homes. Check into the hotel.

Day 5

| Kaziranga

An early start awaits as we embark on a morning elephant safari in Kaziranga National Park. This unique experience allows for close encounters with the park's diverse wildlife, including the majestic one-horned rhinoceros, elephants, and various species of deer. The park is characterized by its lush grasslands, wetlands, and dense forests, providing a habitat for an incredible array of flora and fauna.
 
Post breakfast, visit the Kaziranga Orchid Center.
 
After the safari, we return to the lodge for breakfast and some relaxation time. In the afternoon, we set out for a jeep safari through the western range of the park, where we will have further opportunities for wildlife sightings. Kaziranga is not only renowned for its wildlife but also its beautiful landscapes, and you will be enchanted by the serene beauty of this region. After a fulfilling day of exploration, we return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 6

| Kaziranga

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to the Guwahati airport to board a flight for your onward journey.
