Welcome to Colombo! Our representative will greet you at Bandaranaike International Airport and escort you to Kandy, the historic hill capital of Sri Lanka and its second largest city, known for its UNESCO World Heritage status. En route, we'll visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and a spice garden. Witness caretakers' dedication to orphaned elephants.
In Kandy, explore the city and its rich Buddhist heritage. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic houses a revered relic dating back to the 4th century, when the Buddha's tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess' hair. The relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist World. Immerse yourself in culture and history as you embark on your Sri Lankan adventure.

After breakfast, head to Nuwara Eliya. Explore Ramboda Falls, the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka, with a 109m drop. Visit a tea factory and plantation. Proceed to the Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple, associated with the epic Ramayana, housing a 16-foot Hanuman statue. Later, in Nuwara Eliya, often called 'Little England,' enjoy a city tour amidst scenic mountains, valleys, and tea plantations. See Seetha Amman Temple, marking the spot where Sita was held captive by King Ravana. This charming town, resembling England, offers a glimpse into colonial influence. Nuwara Eliya's cool climate and beautiful landscapes create an enchanting experience.

Following breakfast, head to Bentota and visit the renowned Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, managed by the Wild Life Protection Society of Sri Lanka. Established in 1988, it has protected and released approximately 3.5 million baby turtles into the wild, aided by local fishermen who provide eggs. Eggs are buried in sand, and hatchlings are released into the sea at night after about 50 days. The hatchery cares for injured and disabled turtles, including albinos. Next, take a boat ride on the Madu Ganga River, home to pristine mangrove forests and abundant wildlife. You'll encounter diverse flora and fauna.
Visit a Buddhist monastery on an island, and witness local activities like cinnamon production and prawn fishing. In the evening you will see the fishermen in their canoes lighting lanterns to attract the shellfish into their traps. It's a captivating journey through nature and culture through enchanting interactions with the local inhabitants.
